Street Art

|
Street art is by far the coolest thing since Doc Martin's. Street art is art developed in public places. You might have seen graffiti, stencil graffiti or just random spray paintings in huge cities such as NY or Paris. This is what we call street art. It is usually done using spray cans and stencils or sometimes even ink. Check out some of these awesome pictures done by street artists such as Banksy, Above, BLU and D*Face...

Luke Chueh

|
Ok ok. I didnt want to post anything on artists such as Leornado Da Vinci and Van Goh because I know that many of you already know their life biography like the back of your hands. So i decided to do a post on Luke Chueh. I know not many of you have heard of Luke Chueh. But I'm sure that you have all seen Fall Out Boy's 'Folie à Deux' album. Many people have asked me "Who designed the cover?". So i did some research and it turns out that Luke Chueh is the artist who designed this peculiar yet andearing cover. Luke is considered to be a member of the lowbrow, or pop surrealism art movement. His images have been remarked upon for their juxtaposition of cuteness. His paintings may not always be of couples holding hands on the beach, or flowers swaying gently in the breeze. But this man sure does know how to grab someones attention. check these out..

Salvadore Dali

|
I decided that im going to do a series of posts on some of my favourite artists. Now, lets begin with Salvadore Dali. Not many people might have heard of him, but im sure that theres not a single person in this world who hasn't seen his magnificent painting 'The Persistence of Memory'. (melting clocks)

Dali uses alot of emotion and symbolism in his work. Like 'The Persistence of Memory' for example; suggest Einstein's theory that time is relative and not fixed. This idea came to Dali when he was staring at a piece of melting Camembert cheese on a hot day. Interesting? Heres a link to his site www.salvadordalimuseum.org.
Theres only one word to describe this man...
legend.
